School Counseling

Keeping in view the stressors contributed by the fast paced life in the metropolis of Dubai, the Counseling Department at Al Salam was established as the school began to expand.

The services of the Counseling Department at Al Salam is a support system for all the stakeholders of the school. Students, Parents and staff have access to consultations with the Counselor. Students across their school years are benefited non-judgemental support and a listening ear.

The Counseling Department works closely with the Special Education Needs(SEN) Department providing support for students with exclusively social and emotional needs as well as those with academic needs.

Care is taken to accommodate a suitable time slot so that students will not miss instruction time in the classroom. Referrals to the Counselors may come from the parents, teachers or the students themselves.

The Counseling Department also does periodic workshops for all the stake holders on relevant topics to improve the quality of life for all concerned. The Counselor serves the liaison to make external referrals in cases that are beyond the scope of school counseling.
